Itinerary : 4 days From Marrakech to Casablanca

Day 1 : Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Our Marrakech desert tour kicks off with an 8:00/9:00 AM riad pickup. Journeying through the Atlas Mountains via Col Tichka pass, we savor scenic stops and optional visits, such as an argan oil cooperative. In Ouarzazate, explore the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou and, if interested, visit the film studios. Traverse Skoura’s palm oasis, discover the Valley of Roses, and reach the mesmerizing Dades Gorges. Dinner and an overnight stay in a picturesque mountain hotel conclude the day, offering a delightful blend of culture and natural beauty.

Day 2 : Dades Valley – Gorges of Todra – Merzouga Erg chebbi

After breakfast, our journey unfolds along the picturesque Boumalne riverbank, where the landscape is adorned with ocher, red, and mauve hues, marked by kasbahs and ksour. Traverse stony plateaus dotted with grazing camels, immersing yourself in a landscape rich with fortresses, castles, and fortified citadels.

As we progress through ksour, oasis, and palm trees, we reach Tineghir, perched at 1,350 meters altitude and surrounded by a lush palm grove. Enjoy free time to explore the spectacular Todra Gorges, meander through the orchard, and wander the palm grove. Continuing to Erfoud, known as the ‘city of fossils,’ witness the extraction and craftsmanship of these ancient treasures. Passing through Rissani, our journey culminates in Merzouga, where the high dunes of Erg Chebbi await.

Relax and savor a refreshing break in Merzouga, indulging in some tea. In the afternoon, embark on a camel trek into the desert to witness an unforgettable sunset. The night holds a special experience as you sleep in tents surrounded by dunes, embracing the Berber tradition. Enjoy a traditional dinner, accompanied by live drum music next to a bonfire. With a bit of luck, marvel at the starry sky. Dinner and breakfast complete this magical desert retreat.

Day 3 : Merzouga -Valley of Ziz – Midelt- Ifrane – Fes

Today promises to be extraordinary, beginning with a recommended early rise to witness the enchanting sunrise in the desert. After soaking in the beauty of the morning sun, return to the camp for a hearty breakfast. Following a relaxing camel ride back to Merzouga, prepare for an unforgettable adventure!

Our northward journey commences, crossing the expansive Palmeral de Tafilalet, one of the world’s largest palm groves, extending over 20 km. Traverse the Valley of Ziz, named after the river flowing from the High Atlas, providing sustenance to the palm grove. Pause to observe the valley from a vantage point and catch a glimpse of the village of Aoufous.

A stop in Midelt, nestled in the heart of the Atlas, allows for a well-deserved break and lunch (not included). In the afternoon, continue through the Cedar Forest, where, if luck is on our side, we may encounter some monkeys. Our journey then takes us through Ifrane, often referred to as the ‘Moroccan Switzerland,’ situated on the north-western slope of the Middle Atlas at 1,630 meters above sea level. Ifrane’s alpine-like architecture, pristine cleanliness, and lush greenery create a unique atmosphere. Explore the city and its notable Michlifen ski slope, one of the world’s significant tracks.

As the day concludes, arrive in Fez, the cultural capital of Morocco. Transfer to your accommodation and enjoy some free time to unwind after a day filled with diverse landscapes and cultural wonders.

Day 4 : Fes / Guided tour- Casablanca

After breakfast at the Riad, our exploration of Fez, the spiritual capital and oldest city in Morocco, begins. We delve into its vibrant souks, winding alleyways, and rich historical monuments. Our journey commences with a visit to the Royal Palace, providing a peaceful transition between the new and old Fez. Next, we explore the Jewish headquarters and the first Mellah ever built in Morocco. The day unfolds with visits to culturally and historically significant sites, including the renowned Al Qaraouine University, one of the oldest in the region, the fascinating tanneries, and the Attarine Museum.

Following a delightful lunch, we venture into Fes el Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its narrow streets and historic landmarks such as Medersa Bou Inania and Bab Boujloud (the main gate of the Medina). This district offers a glimpse into a bygone era, transporting visitors to a place of exotic charm. For those inclined to shop, Fes el Bali is a local craft paradise, showcasing colorful Moroccan slippers, leather goods, metalwork, vibrant glass lamps, and tiles. In the afternoon, we bid farewell to Fez and set out for Casablanca via the highway. Upon arrival in Casablanca, the economic capital of the country, we may embark on a short tour, time permitting, to explore the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque, the world’s second-largest (optional interior visit), as well as the Boulevard of the Corniche, Park of the Nations, and Mohamed V Square. The journey concludes with a transfer to your hotel. This marks the end of the trip and our services.
