Day 1 : Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Ouarzazate - Roses valley - Dades Valley

Your adventure begins in Marrakech, and on the first day, you’ll venture into the majestic High Atlas Mountains. As you wind through the mountainous terrain, breathtaking panoramic views unfold. This ancient fortified village, with its intricate architecture and earthen buildings, transports you back in time. Continuing your exploration, you’ll reach Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco” for its film studios and stunning desert landscapes. From there, your journey leads along the road of Thousand Kasbahs & Roses Valley, famed for fragrant rose plantations that burst into vibrant colors during the blooming season. The adventure continues into the captivating Dades Valley, boasting dramatic rock formations and lush greenery. Day 2 : Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Berber Villages - Erg Chebbi Merzouga (Camel ride & overnight in a desert camp)

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, our journey leads us to Todra Gorge, passing through charming Berber villages. Along the way, we’ll marvel at the beauty of Todra Valley, lush with palm trees. Arriving at Todra Gorges, renowned for its rock-climbing opportunities, we’ll take a brief walk through the striking grey and pink canyons. Our route continues, weaving through picturesque Berber villages and scenic landscapes on the way to the Merzouga desert.

As the day progresses, we head to the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon arrival, embark on a camel ride for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the desert camp. During the camel trek, pause amidst the dunes to witness the captivating sunset, perhaps try sandboarding (optional), capture stunning photos, and soak in the serene scenery. After the sun sets, the journey continues to the camp, where a warm welcome with mint tea awaits. The evening unfolds with dinner, a campfire, a musical celebration, and an overnight stay at a luxurious Merzouga desert camp, complete with dinner and breakfast.

Day 3: Exploring the Merzouga Desert Oasis & Nomad Culture

Start the day early to catch the sunrise over the dunes, then return to camp for breakfast. After that, the day is set aside for off-road travel in a 4×4 vehicle. You will visit a Berber family who lives in handmade tents, share mint tea with them, and learn about their daily life.

Next, head to Khamlia village for a live Gnawa music performance. Local musicians, whose roots trace back to sub-Saharan Africa, play this spiritual music with deep rhythm and energy. After lunch, try Madfouna, a traditional Berber stuffed pizza, at a local spot.

The afternoon is free for sandboarding on the dunes or resting at the desert lodge. It is a calm end to a day full of local culture and wide-open desert views.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, leave the dunes and stop in Rissani, the old holy capital of the Alaouite Dynasty. Its traditional souk is busy, local, and full of character, so it is a good place to see everyday trade in southern Morocco.

From there, continue through the Draa Valley, the longest river oasis in Morocco. Palm groves stretch along the road, and old earth-built kasbahs appear across the landscape. It is one of the most scenic parts of the route.

Stop for lunch in the valley, then cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains with their volcanic peaks and dry ridges. By late afternoon, arrive in Ouarzazate and check into a comfortable riad. You can relax by the pool and enjoy a quiet dinner before the next day’s drive.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Atlas Film Studios – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

On the final day, start with a visit to the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate. You can walk through the large movie sets used in films such as The Mummy and Kingdom of Heaven. The site gives a clear look at why this city is linked so often with film production in Morocco.

After the studio visit, begin the drive back through the High Atlas Mountains. The road has sharp turns, wide views, and long stretches of mountain scenery. Along the way, stop in a village restaurant for a traditional mountain lunch and one last taste of Berber hospitality.

As you descend toward the plains, the landscape opens up again. By late afternoon or early evening, you arrive in Marrakech for your final drop-off.
